Wow what a weekend. It started out Saturday morning going to the temple with the youth in our ward and planting flowers and moving bark dust. It was fun to be doing that work and being at the temple but I got to be with Ben and Kate too. That was cool and I wish I would have taken my camera to get a picture of us there. Then is was our Stake Conference and we had Russel M. Nelson and his son in law Elder Ringwood that was just put in the 70. Bart went to the Priesthood leadership meeting and afterwords got to shake his hand. I joined him for dinner and them we went to the adult session. We were seated on the fourth row. It started with a woman singing Where Can I Turn For peace. It was beautiful. Then there were talks from on of the stake presidency on praying for your spouse. Then the mission presidents wife spoke on how because we have the Holy Ghost we really have "no problem." The Mission President then spoke on remembering the events around Christ's atonement and how we need to have our own witness of those events. The Temple President's wife spoke on 4 truths to keep in mind at all times. 1. Happiness only comes when we live the commandments at all times. 2. Living the Lord's way is not hard. 3. Repentance is far better than the alternative. 4. Temple ordinances and covenants when made and kept bring exaltation. The Temple President then quoted different prophets speaking about temple work and the importance of it. He said we do it with great love and great blessings. Elder Ringwood spoke about not only telling when we teach but showing as well. Elder Nelson then spoke on missionary work, the great healing power of the Lord and repentance. It was very powerful. I felt like the people of King Benjiman's time. We came home feeling so blessed. Then Bart and Ben left early to get us a good seat. We were in the chapel right by the door. That turned out great as Kisiah had to go the bathroom many times throughout the meeting. Our Stake President spoke on the different kinds of soil that seeds grew upon in the parable. He likened that to kinds of things that need to be done in our home for the truth to grow. Then another member of the Stake Presidnecy spoke on preparing our hearts and minds to hear the word of God. A Laurel spoke on virtue and why it was added to the Young Women's values. The mission President spoke again on missionary work and the Temple President again on temple work. Elder Ringwood spoke about King Limhi in the book of mormon and how he first desired to give up half his kingdom, then all his kingdom and then all his sins. That is what is required of us...give up all sins to know God. Elder Nelson then spoke again. He asked the primary kids to stand and sing I Am A Child of God with him. Kisiah was so cute and stood on the bench and sang her heart out. That's when my tears started. He talked about knowing that and believing it. He gave us a blessing that we could live and share the gospel. He blessed those that needed to be healed to be healed according to the Lord's will. He said not to give up reading the scriptures as a family. It isn't always easy but it will make all the difference. I almost had my tears stopped but after the prayer I was cleaning up all our stuff and looked up to see Benjiman infolded in Elder Nelson's arms. Kate was right next to them. He hugged each of them and told them he loved them. So cool. It is a day that we won't forget.
